Great success at the 2011 Automechanika Middle East Show

Perth, WA - Coming back from the 2011 Automechanika Middle East, the show as a whole was a great success with excellent prospects for the future.

First time participating in the Automechanika ME, fleetfinder was able to showcase some very interesting GPS and Satellite telecomm enabled solutions which cover environmental management systems, asset management systems and flood monitoring systems with our world class vehicle tracking systems.

Automechanika Middle East which was held at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, is one of the most important aftermarket trade fair in the wider Middle East. It continues to be the leading international meeting place for the automobile sector. As the world's biggest trade fair for the automotive aftermarket it spotlights innovations and solutions in the fields of parts, systems, tuning, workshop equipment, bodywork & paintwork, car wash, IT & management and the latest automobile services.

fleetfinder finds stolen forklift

Perth, WA -   A GPS tracking system helped locate a stolen all terrain forklift, valued at around $20,000, almost immediately in January this year.

The forklift belonging to NSW based RMP Abrasive Blasting, was fitted with Fleetfinder’s GPS tracking system, as were all their other machines, since 2009. Stolen on Monday, 17^th January 2011, the company was able to pinpoint the exact location of the forklift, how long it had been there and even the route the thieves had taken, just by logging onto Fleetfinder the next day.

RMP Abrasive Blasting downloaded the necessary reports and sought the assistance of the local police who managed to find the stolen forklift in the backyard of a house.

“This tracking system has proven to be immeasurable as it has saved us hundreds of downtime hours in processing insurance paperwork, sustaining delays in repairs or organising a replacement, had the forklift not been found,” said a very relieved Ray Ellis, Managing Director of RMP Abrasive Blasting. “The initial costs of installing GPS units to the fleet have now been recovered by this incident,” added Ellis, affirming that apart from being used as a billing tool, the system is indeed cost effective.

fleetfinder made its debut at the  2010 SEMA Show

fleetfinder has just returned from a very successful participation at the SEMA show held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. fleetfinder took full advantage of the venue and demonstrated why it is a leader in the GPS tracking systems field; now selling products in more than 40 countries worldwide. Without exception, the attendees were “Wow’d” by fleetfinder’s use of both the Bing & Google maps on their tracking site. The “Awesome” moments were when the fleetfinder screen was split to show live tracking on both the Arial & the Street Views (using the Google maps) simultaneously.

The introduction of fleetfinder Gold sparked comments about “superior features…”, “affordable…”, and many more. Existing fleetfinder customers continued to tell fleetfinder’ CIO, Mohit (Neo) Khanna about the great customer service they have  received.

New National consistent laws implemented in Queensland  

From 1 July 2010, Queensland is implementing new nationally consistent laws to help reduce crashes involving speeding heavy vehicles. Employers, prime contractors, operators, schedulers, loading managers and certain consignors & consigneed now have greater responsibilities for ensuring their drivers do not speed.

Heavy vehicle speeding is a serious problem on our roads, with roughly one in five heavy vehicle crashes due to speeding or excessive speed. Reducing heavy vehicle speeding will make Queensland roads safer.

The new laws make off-road parties in the chain of responsibility more accountable for ensuring heavy vehicles fo not speed. Heavy Vehicle Speed Compliance legislation is the third component of the national Compliance and Enforcement road safety reform.
